Day 1 went well. I was really busy and I didn't really have time to think about the fact that I was cleansing anyway. I followed all the rules... I had my smoothie for breakfast (see the recipe here) I ate a salad for lunch, had a banana as a snack. I ate an ounce of almonds as another snack and then ate a salad for dinner. I also got in a yoga class with RD and my friend Tia. It was an awesome workout and a good day.
The highlight of my day however was Jonathan and his doctors visit. I took Jonathan to his doctors appointment for his routine check-up so that he could get his immunization shots. He got a total of three shots yesterday. I couldn't believe what a trooper this kid was! He took those needles like a champ, he barely even cried. When he did cry, it was only a little bit so I made sure I had his bottle close at hand to soothe him. The nurse practitioner looked at me as said " You are doing a fine job mommy, everything is very well with Jonathan." "He is within the appropriate percentile that he needs to be for almost 3 months, however try not to overfeed him because he is a little chunky " I looked right into that nurse practitioners eye's and said (maybe a little to defensively) "What's wrong with a baby being a little chunky?" In which she quickly said "Nothing but just be mindful that there is an obesity issue in our country." I thought for a minute...and thought a minute more... than considering the fact that she was just warning me out of concern...I said to myself... touche' nurse lady... touche'.
